https://nabarralde.eus/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/eliseo1.jpg422540Martin Ttipia lekua es el nombre que el Ayuntamiento de Vitoria-Gasteiz ha elegido para erigir un espacio de recuerdo y de Memoria Histórica centrado en la figura de quien fuera el tenente de la plaza amurallada navarra de Nova Victoria. La antiguamente conocida como Gasteiz fue testigo en 1199 de un asedio orquestado por las tropas del rey castellano Alfonso VIII y que mantuvo en jaque a la población vitoriana durante nueve meses hasta la posterior rendición de la plaza, en 1200. Fue el propio rey de Navarra Sancho VII el Fuerte el que, sabedor de que no sería capaz de auxiliarles, ordenó la rendición de una ciudad que desde entonces ha estado en manos de Castilla-España.
